Why do we celebrate Ram Navami?The Hindu festival of Rama Navami commemorates the birth of the god Vishnu’s seventh manifestation, Rama, to King Dasharath and Queen Kausalya in Ayodhya, Kosala. This event occurs on the ninth day of the bright half of the Shukla Paksha of the lunar cycle of Chaitra March–April, the first month in the Hindu calendar, and is a component of the Chaitra Navaratri in the spring. Rama Navami, which commemorates the day that Lord Rama came to Earth to save the world from the demon king Ravana, is a holiday that is dear to the hearts of the Supreme Lord’s devoted followers.
