Why do we celebrate Hanuman jayanti?The celebration of Hanuman Jayanti honors the birth of Lord Hanuman. The adherents fast on this day. Every year, on the full moon day of the Hindu month of Chaitra, Hanuman Jayanthi takes place. In some locales, Hanuman Jayanti is observed on the fourteenth day of the Hindu month of Kartik’s dark fortnight.

Anjana was an apsara who was cursed to be born on Earth. She was only able to escape this curse after having a son. According to the Valmiki Ramayana, Kesari, the King of the region Sumeru, was Hanuman’s father. Brihaspati’s kid was named Kesari. Anjana prayed to Shiva for a son for a total of 12 arduous years. She consequently acquired Hanuman. Hanuman is thought to be an embodiment of Shiva.
