Every year on April 14, people across India commemorate Dr. Ambedkar’s life and work by celebrating the Ambedkar Jayanti, which honors his contributions to Indian society. A fervent supporter of social justice, equality, and human rights, Dr. Ambedkar’s principles are still held in high regard today. Some people in India refer to his birthday as “Equality Day.”
