Why do we celebrate Christmas?Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, whom they believe to be the Son of God, by celebrating Christmas.

The Mass of Christ or Jesus is where the word “Christmas” originates. Christians recall that Jesus died and rose again during a mass service. The only worship that could begin after sunset was the “Christ-Mass,” thus people attended at midnight. Christ-Mass is hence abbreviated to Christmas.
