One of the largest festivals for Hindus is Mahashivratri. The fourteenth day of the dark fortnight of the Magha month is when Maha Shivratri is observed, according to the South Indian Panchangam (Amavasyant Panchang). The festival of Maha Shivaratri, on the other hand, is commemorated on the fourteenth day of the dark fortnight in the Falgun month, according to the North Indian almanac (Purnimant Panchang). It is a significant Hindu festival that commemorates “overcoming darkness and ignorance” in life and the universe. It is marked by chanting Shiva’s name, fasting, and reflecting on ethical principles and values like honesty, generosity, forgiveness, and the finding of Shiva.
