Why do we celebrate Naraka Chaturdashi?Naraka Chaturdashi, also referred to as Kali Chaudas, Narak Chaudas, Roop Chaudas, Choti Diwali, Narak Nivaran Chaturdashi, or Bhoot Chaturdashi, is a Hindu festival that takes place every year on Chaturdashi, the 14th day of the Krishna Paksha in the Hindu calendar month of Ashwayuja according to the amanita tradition or Kartika according to the purnimanta tradition. The second day of the five-day Diwali festival has just passed. Narakasura, an asura, was slain on this day, according to Hindu tradition, by Krishna and Satyabhama. Early religious rites in the morning mark the day, and afterwards, there are celebrations.
