Onam is a ten-day festive that Malayalis around the world, whether in Kerala or elsewhere, celebrate. The Great King Mahabali’s arrival is commemorated by this state-sanctioned festival in Kerala. It is also rumored that Keralans celebrate it to signal the beginning of the harvest season. The tenth day of this ten-day celebration, also referred to as Thiruvonam, is the most significant day. As a result, the phrases Thiruvonam and Onam are frequently used interchangeably.
