World Post Day was officially established on October 9 during the UPU Congress in Tokyo, Japan, in 1969. An Indian delegation member named Shri Anand Mohan Narula submitted the suggestion. Since then, World Post Day has been observed on a global scale to raise awareness of the value of postal services. The goal of World Post Day is to raise awareness of the postal industry’s importance to businesses and consumers as well as its role in a nation’s social and economic growth.
