One of the most famous places for Sikh pilgrimage, the Golden Temple is known for its entire golden dome. The Mandir is a two-story building that is constructed on a marble slab that is 67 feet square. About 400 kg of gold leaf was used in the construction of the building’s upper level, which was ordered by Maharaja Ranjit Singh.
